On 22nd June 2020, Kenya's Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development, having consulted and heard from various stakeholders, developed Negotiating Objectives and Principles to guide the negotiations for the FTA

The Ministry identified 22 chapters it intends to negotiate with the US including SPS measures, food and agriculture measures, customs, rules of origin, and trade remedies.
